Събитията около новия етап на санкции срещу Huawei от страна на американските власти се развиват с шеметни темпове. Китай реагира мигновено с финансова инжекция в местния чипмейкър SMIC.

Като една от малкото компании, способни да организират производство на процесори за Huawei на фона на новите ограничения, китайската SMIC получи финансова подкрепа от държавата, съобщи Блумбърг.

Един от държавните инвестиционни фондове на КНР е увеличил уставния капитал на SMIC от $3,5 на $6,5 млрд. Делът на самата SMIC след тази намеса на държавата намалява от 50,1% на 38,5%.

Смята се, че по-голямата част от получените средства ще бъдат насочени към разширяване на производствения капацитет – до ниво, което позволява да се произвеждат 35 хиляди силициеви пластини на месец по 14-нм технология, вместо сегашните 6 хиляди.

Държавната подкрепа за развитието на SMIC е неразривно свързана с действията на американските власти, които ограничиха достъпа на Huawei до производствените мощности на тайванската TSMC. Според някои оценки, TSMC изпълнява до 98% от поръчките за мобилни процесори на Huawei.

Миналата седмица SMIC, чиито производствени мощности са съсредоточени в Шанхай, стартира производството на 14-нм процесори HiSilicon Kirin 710A за Huawei. Но приходите на компанията от 14-нм продукти са малко над 1% и едва ли тя може да удовлетвори нуждите на Huawei.

Разширяването на производствените мощности на SMIC с държавни пари трябва да намали тежестта на проблема, пред който е изправена водещата технологична компания на Китай.

    2020 First Quarter Highlights
